Through the partnership, Virtual1 partners can access CityFibre’s business Ethernet infrastructure in its full fibre towns and cities across the UK starting from February. In turn, CityFibre will use Virtual1’s national network to deliver ‘off-net’ choice to its partners.
“Our partnership with CityFibre is compelling news for Virtual1’s partners, combining CityFibre’s rapidly growing UK coverage and highly competitive commercials with the flexibility and empowerment of Virtual1’s software-defined network to deliver the best of both worlds,” said Tom O'Hagan, founder and CEO of Virtual1.
“It brings together two of the UK’s most exciting connectivity providers in a way that makes sense for Virtual1, CityFibre, and most importantly the channel.”
Specifically, Virtual1 has interconnected with CityFibre to use its network and enable 600+ channel partners to serve their business customers with a portfolio of 100Mbps to 1Gbps full fibre Ethernet products in 28 cities, expanding further as CityFibre continues its UK wide rollout.
“Announcing our partnership with Virtual1 is an exciting moment,” added Andy Wilson, head of wholesale at CityFibre.
“It marks the expansion of diversified Ethernet product choice for channel partners across the UK and is fantastic news for businesses who are looking eagerly for a compelling and competitively priced full fibre solution.”
Details on pricing options for CityFibre connectivity are available through Virtual1’s 1Portal with Virtual1 pricing available through CityFibre’s portal Ethernet quoting tool.
In related news, Virtual1 acquired PacketFront Software for an undisclosed sum. The Swedish software house specialises in network orchestration solutions for complex multi-vendor residential, enterprise and MPLS networks.
Additionally, CityFibre won a multi-million-pound contract by Three to connect an additional 1,300 mobile masts across 59 towns and cities, back in September.
