Lars Schedin has stepped aside as group CEO of EcoDataCenter, to be replaced by Carl Frögelius, who has been running the Swedish operation since last December.

Schedin said that, as from tomorrow, “I will now further concentrate my time on developing our sustainability concept, as well as devoting time to sales and finance.”

Frögelius (pictured) spent eight years at Oracle, the last half of that period as CEO of its Swedish operation.

“Under his leadership, a new management team is now being established, in which I will remain,” said Schedin, who had been group CEO for five years. “We have developed a company out from a project idea on paper, to now run five data centres in Sweden at three different locations,” he said. “We have also established EcoDataCenter as a thought-leader in sustainability, also known for its high level of security and competent operating organisation.”

When Frögelius joined the company in December, Schedin said: “Carl is an extremely qualified CEO who has worked in the industry for more than three decades and who is now given the responsibility to run and develop our fast-growing data centre business.”

Yesterday, with Schedin’s decision to curtail his role as group CEO, he said: “I am now handing over the position as CEO of the EcoDataCenter Group to Carl in order to be able to focus even more on outward-looking activities and our sustainability work.”
