Epiq hosts confidential, business critical data for some of the largest law firms and corporations around the world, and was looking for a new disaster recovery and data protection solution to provide its clients with “uninterrupted business service with redundancy in minutes” and “no downtime or data loss”, said the services provider.
Continuous access, now supported by Zerto, is critical to Epiq clients because a loss of access could lead to missed court dates or other legal repercussions.
Ziv Kedem, CEO of Zerto, said: “Data recovery and protection is a key requirement in the legal services industry where it’s essential to protect against unplanned disruptions so services remain available and functioning 24/7 for clients.”
Carlos Gonzalez, chief information officer at Epiq, said: “Our clients rely on us to have the best processes, plans and tools in place at our data centres. Zerto gives us the ability to simplify and streamline our disaster recovery process.”
He added: “We also utilise Zerto’s point-in-time recovery feature for more than just disaster recovery as it provides additional maintenance capabilities.”
Data centre services firm Flexential launched a disaster recovery as-a-service (DRaaS) offering at the back end of last year, and that service is powered by Zerto's Continuous Data Protection (CDP).
Zerto says its technology is currently used to support services on Microsoft Azure, IBM Cloud, AWS, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud and those from more than 450 managed service providers.
