The Tier 3 facility will be located in Santa Cruz (pictured) and will offer an initial 17,200 sq ft of space.
The Millicom subsidiary company already has 12 data centres that are located across Panama, Guatemala, Honduras, Paraguay and Colombia.
The company will be staging a virtual event to officially launch the Bolivia project this Wednesday (28 April).
The expansion of Tigo's data centre business in Latin America comes after Millicom recently finalised plans to sell off its operations in the African market, including in Ghana and Tanzania.
Tigo Business extended its partnership with Amazon Web Services earlier this month, to enable its customers to get improved access through its data centres to the AWS portfolio.
“We’ve made significant investments in the construction, certification and development of new capabilities in our data centres, as well as in our fibre optic network to benefit our Tigo Business customers across Latin America,” said Santiago Londoño, vice president for B2B at Millicom.
“Partnering with Amazon will contribute to the technological advancement of the region.”
Services offered through the Tigo/AWS alliance include AWS Direct Connect through Tigo's fibre network, AWS cloud infrastructure, backup to the AWS Cloud, disaster recovery as-a-service (DRaaS), centralised data and app management and professional services.
