The Nasdaq-listed company develops conversational commerce and AI technology and has built an AI-powered "conversational cloud", a software platform that enables B2C conversations. LivePerson said that more than one billion conversations have been held through its solution, which supports customer service and purchasing.
Clients come from industries such as retail, banking, education and telecoms.
Cu commented: “I am proud to join LivePerson, one the world’s most innovative companies. And just like in Globe where innovation is a part of our DNA, LivePerson’s vision for conversational commerce seeks to transform lives for the better through technology,” said Ernest Cu, Globe President and CEO.
Cu, who was appointed Globe's deputy CEO in 2008, has a reputation for entrepreneurship and finding new enterprise business solutions. According to his corporate bio, he was a "founding father" of business process outsourcing (BPO) in the Philippines – an industry which is entirely dependent on digitalisation. Figures published by the London School of Economics in September pegged the sector's economic contribution at US$26 billion in 2019.
As a sector, BPO employs 1.3 million people and is considered one of two primary contributors to GDP in the country.
