Over the last several years, Digital Colony has more than tripled the size of its team to become one of the world’s largest digital infrastructure investment firms. In recent months Digital Colony has closed a $750 million deal for 4,200 towers in Indonesia, its $854 million acquisition of Boingo Wireless, and its purchase of Phoenix Tower’s Brazil unit.
“We are pleased to welcome Michael and Josh to our best-in-class operating partners team,” said Marc Ganzi, President and CEO of Colony Capital and CEO of Digital Colony.
“They both have an outstanding track record in their respective sectors, and their insights and networks across the global digital infrastructure markets will help us further develop Digital Colony’s footprint globally. Their focus will be on developing and driving Digital Colony’s operator-led strategy, performance at our portfolio companies, and maximizing value for our customers, employees and investors.”
Drawing on a 21-year career in the tower business, Bucey will primarily support Digital Colony's growing tower operations, specifically in new markets and by providing insight on MNO activity in emerging markets.
Joshi’s role will see him focus on evaluating and expanding the firm’s data centre developments across the hyperscale, enterprise and edge sectors. He has previously held the roles of CFO at Interxion – which was acquired by Digital Realty in 2019 – CFO of TeleCity plc, and co-founder and CFO of private-equity-backed Storm Telecommunications Limited.
