In his new role, Davies will be responsible for driving a digital focus across Three in the UK and capitalising on its investment in new IT infrastructure to the benefit of the customer. He will also help maximise opportunities that digital can bring the business, including developing the omni-channel and digital strategy.
“I am delighted to welcome Jon to Three UK,” said Elaine Carey, chief commercial officer at Three UK and Three Ireland.
“Digital is central to what we want to achieve as a business and I know that Jon’s strong background will help us grow through digital and ultimately provide better connectivity, every day, for every customer.”
Before joining Three, Davies worked for 6 years at Vodafone where he led digital and transformation in the UK. Prior to this he held senior digital leadership positions at Adobe, Orange /France Télécom and Eurostar.
“This is an exciting role and I am looking forward to really shaping the digital direction of Three UK to help drive the growth of the business and the experience of our customers,” said Davies.
“I want Three to be not only the best digital experience in our industry, but to be known for great digital products and customer experiences beyond telecoms.”
In related news, April saw Three UK welcome David Hennessy as its new chief technology officer.
Hennessy has served as CTO for Three Ireland since 2008 and will now hold a dual role in the technology and operations functions across both businesses, primarily responsible for the network and IT systems.
