Effective immediately, Foley joins Sim Local with the goal of taking the company’s eSIM capabilities to market across all areas of the digital travel ecosystem.
“We’re delighted to welcome Paul to the Sim Local team,” said Andrew McClellan, chief operating officer at Sim Local.
“His expertise in travel ecommerce will bring a new dimension to our strategy and allow us to help international travellers stay connected through digital channels as well as through the existing touch-points in airports. This appointment represents another step forward in our ambitious growth plans.”
Paul has had a career spanning management consultancy, strategy development and customer management in the technology, telecoms and professional service sectors.
Specifically, he has held roles at Deloitte, PwC and Vodafone. Most recently, he served as director of global travel partnerships at the travel technology company, CarTrawler.
“I am excited to be joining the team at Sim Local,” added Foley.
“Joining a focused tech-ready organisation in the travel telecom market just as it is about to experience a major tech disruption represents a unique opportunity and I look forward to helping Sim Local maximise the commercial impact of its eSIM capabilities.”
Sim Local already has points of sale for their local SIM card offering at over 150 locations worldwide. Customers can purchase SIM cards from travel affiliates of Sim Local such as WHSmith and InMotion, as well as from Sim Local stores and vending machines located in airports globally.
In related news, NetLync sister company of Sim Local launched earlier this month with the aim of accelerating eSIM adoption.
NetLync will help MNOs and MVNOs of all sizes embrace opportunities created by eSIM technology. With its UNITE Platform will offer a complete end-to-end eSIM management and distribution solutions.
