The new joint venture plans to build the campus in the Greenland International Industrial Centre, located in Kota Deltamas, Cikarang, Bekasi. It will support the development of multiple buildings and up to 72MW of critical IT capacity.
Construction of the first phase is expected to commence in the “coming months”, said the partners, and is anticipated to be completed by Q1 2023.

“Combined with Triputra’s experience operating across diverse industries in the local Indonesian market and Temasek’s global investment insights and experience in the country, we will be in a good position to serve the needs of Indonesia’s vibrant digital economy.”
Arif Rachmat, director of Triputra Group, said: “Indonesia’s demand for digital and cloud services is growing exponentially and there is no better time for us to be in the data centre industry.”
With the partnership STT GDC says it will achieve greater portfolio diversity and strengthen its Asian data centre network to include the top three most populous countries in Asia - China, India and Indonesia, along with the strategic locations of Singapore, Seoul and Bangkok.
Triputra Group has four business lines, including agribusiness, manufacturing, mining and trading and services. It operates through 80 entities. Temasek has a net portfolio value of US$214 billion.
Last month, China's Tencent Cloud opened its first data centre in Indonesia in Jakarta (pictured) to take advantage of one of the fastest growing public cloud markets in the Asia Pacific region.
According to the Boston Consulting Group, the Indonesian public cloud segment has a compound annual growth rate of 25%, and is expected to increase its value to $800 million by 2023.
