G-Core Labs has expanded its content data network (CDN) with new points of presence in Canada and Romania.

The company, an international cloud and edge solution provider, said the new PoPs are  in Toronto and Bucharest.

Sam Davis (pictured), VP of products at G-Core Labs, said: “It is vitally important to have a fast content delivery network allowing users to have high-capacity video content delivered to them in milliseconds.”

The Romanian PoP has an average response time of 7ms, said G-Core, which later plans to increase its network capacity in Belgium, Germany, Serbia, Sweden and the UK.

G-Core has PoPs in more than 100 cities around the world, with over 6,000 peering partners. Its total network capacity exceeds 50Tbps.

The Luxembourg-based company said it is planning to launch new points of presence “in the near future” in Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Uzbekistan and Yemen, and to enhance its performance in Latin America. Earlier this year it launched a new region of its public cloud in Singapore.
