The space has been leased from German and Dutch property investor Aroundtown, with Interxion using the additional space for the expansion of its existing data centre. With this transaction, Aroundtown says it has achieved “almost full occupancy” at the site.
The site (pictured), at In der Steele 27-43 in 40599 Düsseldorf, consists of several building sections totalling 409,000 sq ft of office and storage space. Before this deal, Interxion already operated around 150,000 sq ft of the site.
The Düsseldorf data centre is connected to the DE-CIX internet exchange in Frankfurt. It is handily located at the Düsseldorf-Süd freeway intersection with connections to the A46 and A59, with the S-Bahn station Düsseldorf-Reisholz 1km away.
Interxion is a subsidiary of US data centre REIT Digital Realty.
