Effective from October, Offutt will take responsibility for the global firm's North America operations. His appointment followed the news in August that Morrison & Co's global head of private markets, William Smales, is to base his global investment role out of New York.
Commenting on his appointment Offutt said: "I look forward to building upon Morrison & Co's long and successful track record of 'investing wisely in ideas that matter'. There are significant investment opportunities in North America, and I am proud to be joining this entrepreneurial and leading infrastructure specialist to help clients gain greater access to this vibrant region."
Most recently, Offutt was MD and head of infrastructure Americas at UBS Asset Management. Prior to this, he worked at Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets where he was managing director of the North American investment team. Other experience includes time as the head of infrastructure banking for the Americas, at Morgan Stanley.
Morrison & Co is "actively growing" its US investment portfolio with a focus on decarbonisation, data and connectivity, and social infrastructure.
Morrison & Co CEO Marko Bogoievski said: "Perry's deep knowledge of the infrastructure markets, his experience in the renewables and digital sectors, and his considerable transaction experience are a great fit for our ambitious firm."
In April, Gary Sugarman was appointed to lead Morrison & Co's infrastructure investment activities in the digital sector, out of New York. Sugarman will advise Morrison & Co’s US team on investment opportunities within the data centre, fibre and connectivity sectors, as well as providing mentorship and strategic counsel to senior executives of the firm’s portfolio companies.
