The company was founded by Kevin Mulqueen through capturing two data centres in King of Prussia and one in Reading in the state of Pennsylvania, and one in Wilmington, Delaware.
Mulqueen is the former president for colocation at Crown Castle, and the new firm is privately funded by him and a set of partners.
DāSTOR’s facilities include two data centres acquired from IPR Secure in Wilmington and Reading, and the two sites in King of Prussia – one a part of a larger business complex serving a variety of businesses across the life sciences sector, and the other one bought from DataBridge Sites.
All four sites bring with them an existing customer base across the healthcare, manufacturing and government sectors. The Wilmington site is the only Tier III-rated facility in the state of Delaware.
“Prior to our conversations about the King of Prussia data centre sites, I was negotiating to acquire two other facilities that, when combined with these two, enabled us to fulfil our vision for DāSTOR - a comprehensive one-stop-shop solution for colocation, hybrid cloud connectivity, security and disaster recovery,” said Mulqueen, CEO of DāSTOR.
