This is a record, said CFO Scott Beasley (pictured), breaking the previous record of 29,000 net additions in the third quarter of 2021.
The fourth quarter also showed a rapid move to fibre: its total number of broadband customers increased by 9,000 in the fourth quarter, a number that indicates some 36,000 had switched to fibre in the same period from slower broadband technologies.
Beasley gave the numbers at a Citi conference, six weeks ahead of the company’s full quarterly and annual results, which are due on 23 February.
He said the company expects to continue growing the total broadband customer base as its fibre build accelerates. In August 2021 CEO Nick Jeffery, formerly head of Vodafone UK, said Frontier aims to connect 10 million locations to fibre by the end of 2025.
In August 2021 Frontier struck a wholesale deal with AT&T to deliver services to enterprise customers outside AT&T’s current footprint. The deal also covers use of Frontier fibre for AT&T’s 5G mobile network, the companies said.
Beasley joined Frontier last year, replacing previous CFO Sheldon Bruha. Beasley was most recently CFO of Arcosa, a North American provider of infrastructure products and solutions.
