She was CFO of the family-owned company, which is led by Sanjiv Ahuja, former CEO of Orange UK and former president of Telcordia Technologies.
Sanjiv Ahuja, Tillman Global Holdings chairman, said: “Suruchi has demonstrated strong vision, leadership and execution capabilities in her previous roles. In her new role, we are confident she is going to lead Tillman Infrastructure to un-precedented success as a leading player in this industry.”
Suruchi Ahuja (pictured) replaces Bill Hague, who previously held the CEO role and is being appointed vice chairman of the company. Hague is a former executive VP of AT&T. Tillman has been working with AT&T, and also Verizon, for a number of years.
Sanjiv Ahuja said: “I would like to thank Bill for the steady guidance he provided Tillman over the past four years. He has played an instrumental role in making Tillman Infrastructure the leading build-to-suit telecom tower company in the US. I look forward to working with him as the vice chair.”
The move comes only days after the family group appointed another ex-AT&T executive to a senior position. Bill Smith, who retired as president of AT&T Technology Operations in September 2016, is to be chairman of Tillman Networks, the family’s digital infrastructure services company.
Since leaving AT&T he has been interim CEO of Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E), based in San Francisco.
Smith said about his new role: “Tillman Networks is executing on a disruptive approach to serving its customers’ network deployment needs and I look forward to working with the team.”
