The data centre will be called MNL1 and will be situated in Cainta, part of Greater Manila, with a prospective opening data of later this year.
At 43,000 metres squared, the data centre will be the largest in the Philippines and will deliver 72 MW of critical power while also being fully powered with renewable energy.
Darren Hawkins, CEO of SpaceDC said: “The Philippines ranks second in terms of data centre growth in Southeast Asia.
“With only 47MW of available capacity in the country it is a dramatically underserved market. We are excited to be a first mover in a new market where we see our customers are investing heavily in.”
In 2021, the company announced it would be expanding its presence in the Indonesian data centre market with the announcement of another data centre in Jakarta called JAK1.
The company also has its NCR1 data centre in India.
