The Auburn connection is scheduled to go live by the end of February and is the latest addition to Windstream’s growing data centre portfolio.
The company adds it is now taking orders at the new AUBix location for wave services, ethernet solutions and dedicated internet access of all speeds.
“We are excited to provide customers with diverse, high-speed connectivity to the AUBix LLC data centre,” said Joe Scattareggia, executive vice president of Windstream Wholesale.
“This data centre is perfectly positioned to meet the needs of hyperscale, government and research-oriented companies across the Southeast. We couldn’t be happier to add AUBix to our suite of top-flight data centre partners.”
AUBix LLC is a 40,000 square foot data centre located adjacent to the university and connects Windstream’s point of presence to Atlanta, Georgia.
“We are proud to partner with Windstream to bring high-speed internet service to communities in Alabama,” said Andrew Albrecht, co-founder and chief executive officer.
“Their visionary approach to technology parity means businesses in the region have the ability to compete on a national and global scale, fuelled by reliable, fibre-based service.”
Windstream’s ICON provides open and disaggregated networking infrastructure that enables wholesale and enterprise tech customers to select customer routes and maintain operational insights.
The platform was unveiled last year and gives its end users access to machine learning based predictive analytics about the health and performance of the network.
