As part of the collaboration, Kyndryl plans to use AWS as one of its preferred cloud providers for internal workloads.
“Our ability to freely explore and unleash the combined benefits of AWS cloud services with Kyndryl’s deep industry-specific managed services and expertise will provide an unprecedented level of knowledge and innovation,” said Martin Schroeter (pictured), chairman and CEO of Kyndryl.
“Together, we will invest in enhancing Kyndryl’s expertise in AWS to help companies modernise, innovate, and compete.”
Specifically, the two build a global AWS Cloud Center of Excellence (CCOE) that will offer customer solutions and services that support mission critical infrastructure, next-gen technologies and enables the upgrading of applications and workflows.
Through the global AWS CCOE Kyndryl service professionals will be able to optimise their customers’ migration journeys with AWS, powered by the availability, reliability and security of the AWS cloud.
“By combining forces with Kyndryl, we are helping customers of all sizes to modernize faster than ever before, grow their businesses, and transform what’s possible,” said Adam Selipsky, chief executive officer at AWS.
“Together, we are committed to educating, empowering, and enabling thousands of AWS certified practitioners and developing joint solutions that will accelerate customers’ journeys and help them innovate on the world’s leading cloud.”
At the same time, Kyndryl and AWS are developing an accelerator for VMware Cloud on AWS, in which skilled professionals from AWS, VMware, and Kyndryl will use their expertise to deliver custom solutions that help enterprises combine their existing VMware investments with AWS services.
As Kyndryl’s has a large number of customers running VMware on premises, the accelerator creates an expedited path to VMware Cloud on AWS and helps organisations to run their mission-critical workloads in the cloud.
“VMware, AWS, and Kyndryl bring together a unique combination of customer focus, technology innovation, and industry leadership that, together, will accelerate customers’ application modernisation and cloud initiatives,” said Raghu Raghuram, chief executive officer at VMware.
The news builds on Kyndryl's Premier Global Alliance Partner and MSP-certified member status as part of the AWS Partner Network.
The two will further invest in more than 10,000 Kyndryl services professionals by the end of 2022, upskilling them in a wide range of AWS competencies.
