Pusey’s most prominent role was as group chief technology officer of Vodafone, which he held from 2006 to 2015.
BAI Group CEO, Igor Leprince, said: “Steve Pusey is one of the most accomplished people in our industry. Throughout his time at Vodafone, his leadership, relationships, and deep capability in growing technology businesses delivered phenomenal performance and results for the business.”
BAI last year won a 20-year concession from Transport for London (TfL) to deliver full mobile and digital connectivity across the London Underground metro system, both on stations and in tunnels.
But the company also provides mobile coverage for the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), Hong Kong’s Mass Transit Railway (MTR) and the New York subway. It is also expanding into other private wireless systems.
Pusey (pictured) said: “BAI is an extremely exciting organisation in a space that is on the cusp of huge expansion as the connected infrastructure and smart city agenda continue to draw the attention and prioritisation of cities and businesses around the world.”
Since leaving his CTO role with Vodafone he has worked in senior positions with ARM, Centrica, FireEye and GlobalLogic, among others.
“His knowledge, experience and support for the business, and our leadership team, will be invaluable as we continue to work to enhance our value proposition to our customers especially the mobile network operators,” said Leprince.
