Lamda Hellix, the southeast Europe data centre services provider, supported Khazna Data Centers during its preparation for its Tier III certification, helping it secure the Tier III Certification of Design Documents

The certification was awarded to Khazna’s existing 9MW data centre facilities in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in less than 6 months.

“Supporting Khazna Data Centers achieving the Uptime Tier III certification, for 2 data centres and 9MW of IT load in less than 6 months makes us very happy. It is a great milestone for Khazna and we are extremely proud for working on this project. Celebrating 15 years in operation this year, we continue working towards our goal of growing further our data centre consulting business in the MENA region,” said Apostolos Kakkos, chairman & CEO of Lamda Hellix.

During the consulting process Lamda Hellix undertook the preparation and review of the design documentation, full liaison with Uptime Institute, the guidance of the project’s contractors and all of the comprehensive and revised reviews during the certification procedure. The new certification recognises that all existing Khazna Data Centers, fulfill the Tier III Concurrently Maintainable criteria without disrupting operations and that there are no shortfalls or weak links in its data centre infrastructure.

“We are very proud to be awarded the Tier III Certification of Design Documents from Uptime Institute that reaffirm our commitment to meeting the highest international quality and infrastructure standards,” said Hassan Al Naqbi, CEO of Khazna Data Centers. “We appreciate the support extended to us by Lamda Hellix during the evaluation process, which played an instrumental role in our efforts in gaining this vital certification. The accreditation is a true testament to Khazna’s continued focus on providing world-class data management solutions to all of its customers.”

In addition, Khazna also confirms that it is also expanding its existing facilities in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The expansion will cover total build-up area of around 31,000sqm, and the combined facilities will deliver over 24MW of IT load once complete by end of 2019. The company also plans to secure the Uptime Institute accreditation for the expansion.
