Colt is to offer dedicated connectivity to Oracle Cloud through Oracle Cloud Infrastructure FastConnect, the company said today.

This relationship will allow customers to use Colt’s Dedicated Cloud Access (DCA) to offer highly secure and reliable private network connectivity to Oracle Cloud.

“As more and more businesses turn to cloud service providers to power their digital transformations, security, availability and resiliency of the network are critical to today’s business operations,” said Peter Coppens, a vice president at Colt.

Oracle Cloud offers software as a service (SaaS) application suites in a number of sectors, plus database Platform as a Service and Infrastructure as a Service from data centres throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia.

The company said that customers can establish public cloud connectivity from their data centre, office or colocation environment, which helps drive cost efficiencies, increase bandwidth throughput, and provide a low latency and more consistent network experience than internet-based connections.

“It’s for this reason that we are delighted to be an Oracle FastConnect partner as part of the Oracle PartnerNetwork, to provide customers with a superior cloud networking experience that is vital for the fast-paced environment of today,” said Coppens.

Customers can also access their cloud data and applications via the Colt IQ Network, which reaches more than 850 data centres and over 27,000 enterprise buildings globally, connected via Colt-owned fibre. This enables improved performance, enhanced control, flexibility, and scalability that can provide access to critical business data and functions, said Colt.
