Systems integrator Accenture says it is in exclusive negotiations to buy Cirruseo, French company that offers Google Cloud services.

Accenture, which is not saying how much it is paying, said the acquisition would strengthen its expertise in Google Cloud in the French market and more broadly across Europe.

Bhaskar Ghosh (pictured), group chief executive of Accenture Technology Services, said: “At a global level, the acquisition of Cirruseo would demonstrate Accenture’s commitment to investing in the skills and capabilities needed to help our clients apply new technologies to accelerate innovation and achieve business outcomes.”

Olivier Girard, Accenture’s managing director for France and the Benelux countries, echoed that. “The combination of Cirruseo’s mastery of Google Cloud technologies with our expertise in digital marketing, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity would enhance our ability to deliver a unique end-to-end service offering to help clients with their digital transformations.”

Eight-year-old Cirruseo, based in central Paris and in Toulouse, has “nearly 100 highly skilled Google Cloud professionals and it is a Google Cloud Premier Partner, as well as a certified trainer for Google Cloud technologies”, said Accenture.

When Capacity tried to check Cirruseo’s own website our network security service came back with the following message about cirruseo.com: “The website that you are trying to access has been blocked because it does not meet our corporate policies or because it contains malicious content.”

However, accessed by mobile phone, the website says Cirruseo specialises in areas such as digital workplace, analytics, artificial intelligence.

“The addition of Cirruseo would be a significant step forward in our growth strategy in France, bringing a strong team of Google Cloud specialists to Accenture,” said Girard.

Hervé Romain, co-founder and CEO of Cirruseo, said: “The combination of our deep expertise in Google Cloud technologies with Accenture’s industry knowledge and experience in global large-scale cloud initiatives would allow us to bring highly differentiated end-to-end services to the market.”

It’s not a done deal, says Accenture: the acquisition requires prior consultation with the relevant works councils and would be subject to customary closing conditions.
