Roaming and wholesale company Mobileum has hired Miguel Carrero to lead its security business.

Carrero (pictured) spent three years at security specialist Siemplify, but before that he was at Hewlett-Packard (HP) for 14 years in a number of roles.

Mobileum CEO Bobby Srinivasan said “He brings outstanding operational and management skills which will be crucial to supporting the development and deployment of our fast-growing security business and helping us to scale the business to even greater heights.”

In February Mobileum said it had entered into a partnership with wholesale telecoms platform provider Linxa to extend the market reach of their respective product portfolios.

Last year Mobileum bought UK cloud-based roaming company Evolved Intelligence, a company that specialises in cloud-hosted roaming value-added services, as well as analytics-based fraud management and signalling security solutions for mobile operators and signalling providers.

As general manager of its security business unit, Carrero will be responsible for leading and growing Mobileum’s portfolio of solutions.

Carrero said: “The increasing sophistication of the networks and the criticality of security for communication service providers is reaching new levels as we move towards 5G infrastructure and an ever-more connected world of people, systems and IoT devices.”
