The new DigiPlex Hobøl data centre is 3,200 sqm, delivering 6MW of power and will support the increasing demand for sustainable and secure data centre capacity in Norway.
“In less than a month, DigiPlex has opened two new data centres in Norway,” said Wiljar Nesse, CEO of DigiPlex.
“Our new centre at Holtskogen will be our seventh facility in the Nordics, serving a steadily increasing demand from both our enterprise customers as well as from the largest IT companies in the world, so-called hyperscalers, looking to capitalize on the advantages of placing their data centres in the Nordics.”
The entire DigiPlex property at Hobøl comprises of 40,000 sqm at Holtskogen Business Park with a potential to expand it by a further 27,000 sqm.
This most recent build marks the first stage of DigiPlex’s wider data centre campus build and also brings DigiPlex’s total to seven data centres located in Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
The expansion program is partly financed through a fully subscribed NOK 655 million bond issue that will be listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange this fall.
“We welcome DigiPlex and it is very positive for our municipality that they have decided to establish themselves here. This kind of industry creates high skill jobs and growth in our region, which we value highly,” added Saxe Frøshaug, mayor of Indre Østfold municipality.
The new facility has been designed for high levels of service availability with resilient infrastructure built with inherent redundancy in the power and cooling systems and engineered so that everything can be maintained or repaired without services downtime.
Through DigiPlex’ Nordic Connect Platform, customers will also be able to operate dual site solutions across DigiPlex Nordic portfolio.
