The Frankfurt FRA 1 data centre is ITENOS’s largest with direct access to Europe’s central internet exchange node DE-CIX, and over 14,000m2 of floor area.
The data centre is strategically located to serve customers in this global financial centre, home to the European Central Bank and the German stock exchange. Users also have access to high-performance connections to more than 150 carriers and service providers, connecting traffic across central Europe.
This PoP is Hurricane Electric’s 6th location in Frankfurt and 12th in Germany, providing enterprises in the greater Frankfurt area with improved fault tolerance, load balancing and congestion management in the delivery of next generation IP connectivity services.

Through this new location, customers of ITENOS in and around Frankfurt now have a variety of new connectivity options and access to Hurricane Electric’s extensive IPv4 and IPv6 network through 100 Gigabit Ethernet (100GE), 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GE) and 1 Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) ports.
Additionally, customers at the facility can exchange IP traffic with Hurricane Electric’s global network, which offers over 20,000 BGP sessions with over 8,000 different networks via more than 250 major exchange points and thousands of customer and private peering ports.
Only last month Hurricane Electric launched a new point of presence (PoP) in Arrow Group's Calgary data centre.
The new PoP is located at in the heart of downtown within one of the Arrow Group's strategically positioned facilities located to serve the area's many energy and high-tech businesses.
