Bujiku's new role is effective 1 January following the departure of finance director and CFO Jacques Marais, who leaves his current role after five years. Marais has worked with Vodacom for 20 years.
In a public notice Vodacom Tanzania said: "The Board takes this opportunity to thank Jacques Marais for his dedication and significant contribution to the business that he has accomplished in 5 years as a Finance Director and wish him all the very best in his future endeavours."
Prior to her appointment as deputy finance director in April of this year, Bujiku (pictured) was the managing executive responsible for financial planning and analysis, investor relations and company secretariat.
She joined Vodacom Tanzania in 2012 and has held various senior roles in the company, including acting finance director of Vodacom Tanzania for eight months in 2014. She later moved to Vodacom Lesotho as finance director, where she successfully implemented transformation projects and delivered consistent shareholder value.
In a LinkedIn post confirming her appointment, Bujiku wrote: "Looking forward to continue delivering on our Purpose and strategic goals. Together we can."
