Data Centre Alliance (DCA) has appointed Guy Willner as its new chairman of the board. DCA is a non-profit organisation of leaders and experts from across the data centre industry. Research In Motion (RIM), the company behind the Blackberry brand, has appointed Thorsten Heins as president and CEO. He succeeds co-CEOs Mark Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie following the submission of a succession plan by the two, and a unanimous vote by the board. Heins was previously COO of product engineering at the company. Before joining RIM in 2007 he held several positions in the mobile sector including CTO of Siemens’ communication division and general management roles in hardware and software businesses.

US operator AT&T has sold 300 million shares in Carlos Slim’s América Móvil, reducing its stake in the company to 8.36%.
